About BITSMUN
BITSMUN Society was formed in 2012 by Sriharsha Vavilala, Uday Kumar Chinta and several others in a process that took one year of hard work, toil and perseverance. The first director for BITSMUN Society was Roshan James.
BITSMUN Society started the BITSMUN in 2012. BITSMUN'12 had four councils- UNHRC, UNSC, UNGA and NATO and had 150 delegates from places like Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kharagpur, Delhi and Kolkata. BITSMUN'12 was a huge event, having received great feedback from its participants. Sriharsha Vavilala was the Secretary General for BITSMUN'12.
BITSMUN Society was back with BITSMUN'13, this time with 5 councils- the UNHRC, UNGA, UNSC, ERC and the JCC - and over 200 delegates from all over the country. BITSMUN'13 was spear-headed by Bhanu Srivatsav, the Secretary General for the conference. The JCC was a new council introduced in the BITSMUN by Ramit Mehta. This unconventional council was based in history, during the Vietnam War. The committees were simulated in real time. This was one of the biggest attractions during BITSMUN' 13.
It turned out to be one of the best MUN's in the city of Hyderabad, and it keeps getting better and bigger every year thanks to the efforts of the members of the society.
