Swipe is a platform for voting on social issues and sharing opinion to make this world a better place. Download Swipe from App Store or Play Store and start swiping left or right to voice your opinion on common matters.
Swipe is not a place for mocking religions, races, people's sexual orientation, or disparaging other people's viewpoint; rather it's a place for having rational constructive discussion on social problems that matter to all of us and finding solutions to those problems.
There are plethora of issues which impact all of us like women empowerment, child abuse, air pollution, inflation and price rise. Despite each and everyone of us having an opinion, we fail to convert it into change at ground level because nobody is taking an initiative and giving right direction to the public opinion. We want to change that and take public opinion to it’s logical conclusion.
Social issues are the general problems that affect and influence a large number of individuals within a society. They often include problems that affect real, day-to-day life. It also affects how people react to certain traditions, beliefs, and ideologies.
Swipe can be used by anyone who believes in change and making the world a better place for our future generations.
If you care about religion being used as a source of conflict, technology's impact on our lives, decline in quality of education, rising cost of commodities, increased traffic on roads, or political conflicts and other similar issues, then Swipe is for you!
To contribute, Swipe LEFT or RIGHT to register your vote. Once you have voted, it will show a snapshot in time of how other people have voted on that issue. Final count and percentage of votes in favor and against will not be available until voting is closed (varies by issue and topic, anywhere from 7 to 30 days). If you are not aware of the topic, we encourage you to click "more info" to learn about the topic before voting.
Although Swipe UP (Unsure) option is available, we encourage you to participate and make your vote count by Swiping LEFT or RIGHT. If you do not know about the topic, click "more info" for additional context prior to voting. To be fair to the active participants, we show the results to user who vote by Swiping LEFT or RIGHT.
Questions may range from women safety, religious freedom, economic issues, human rights, inequality, to matters that impact our lives everyday such as children's education, road conditions, unemployment, alcohol abuse, etc.
No, we DO NOT share individual voting preferences with anyone. Once you have voted, only you can see how you voted on a question unless you share that with others while justifying your opinion.
To keep the voting process fair we do not allow users to change their vote. We find this a very important feature to maintain the integrity of the data.
Just putting your name on a petition will not bring change in the society. Petitions do not tell us how many people are against the suggested change. To keep the process fair, Swipe invites both who are in favour and against the issue and provides a platform to have a rational discussion for finding solutions to problems.
For selected issues, we analyze the data and extract interesting facts that may help bring the change. We work with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organisations, media, and government, who leverage the analysis results to change policies, laws, and spread awareness.
Awareness is the first step towards a positive development; Action follows. The analysis and expertise provided by us will serve as early warning mechanisms and help NGOs start awareness campaigns and implement new programs to bring positive change in the social, economic and political activities of communities and the country as a whole.
No, but we do guarantee that each swipe will take us closer to the change. Sparking debate and logical discussion is the first step towards change; from there alternatives to the respective problems can be found.
In a progressing country change should be constant; but we can not progress, until we know what to change. Swipe solved that problem by bringing important societal issues to your attention. You can vote yes/no based on your preference and invite your friends and family to vote by sharing the question with them. The more people think like you, the faster the change will come.
Swipe is a platform for capturing public opinion on various social issues. NGOs can partner with us for collecting public opinion on various issues which interest them and resolving them will make India a better place. We can run campaigns for specific causes.
