Once every 2 years, The Coach Leadership Centre conducts a National Leadership Convention - MARATHON, a kind of "Maha Kumbh of Leadership" - where all Coach Members from all Chapters meet under one roof. This national convention, MARATHON, is an opportunity for Coach Members to revisit their powerful learnings of the training, and further hone up their leadership skills by sharing their latest experiences, by participating in various competitions like writing & presenting technical papers, dramatics, impromptu, talk to convince, and sequential thinking etc. These competitions and activities are designed to help participating members to shed their inhibitions and unleash creativity. They help the participating members to develop a cohesive & wholesome personality as also to enhance their writing skills, communication skills, public speaking skills.
In short MARATHON means "मेरा उत्थान"
Each MARATHON involves meticulous minute-to-minute planning and flawless execution of the same through exemplary teamwork.
So far, the Coach Leadership Centre has successfully conducted its MARATHONS in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011 without any gap.
These National Conventions were alternatively held at Delhi and Chandigarh and are eagerly looked forward to by all Coach Members, also known as CLCians. With the successful conduct of Marathons for so many years without any gap, we are emboldened to prepare this manual to serve as guiding document for subsequent Marathons.
The Coach Leadership Centre (CLC) is an association of individuals who are bound by one common belief that success is determined entirely by an individual’s attitude and conviction in the ability to rise above one’s personal circumstances and achieve one’s goals against all odds.
The COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE came into existence is 1995 and today has around 10,000 members spread across four Chapters, namely, Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurgaon and Hoshiarpur. The core philosophy of COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE is “self development” – multi-facted development of the individuals so that the “principles of success, happiness and contribution to society” are deeply ingrained into one’s very thinking and lifestyle.
The COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE firmly believes in the wholesome development of individual persona.
The basis of eligibility for membership of COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE is a rigorous practical leadership training workshop conducted by renowned behavioural Trainers.
The training focuses on development of positive attitude, interpersonal relationships, communication, presentation & public speaking skills, leadership of 21st century, living stress free and disease free life and emphasizes the importance of living a life of purpose with meaningful contribution to society. It also emphasizes on the spiritual development of all individuals by focusing on learning to deeply understand the difference between “hedonistic pleasure” and “true happiness”.
This Leadership Training Workshop, known as BE YOUR BEST - LEADER in its current avatar, is based on principles of andragogy consisting of strategies suitable for adult learning. Anybody who is 18 years of age and above can attend this leadership training workshop, irrespective of their social status, educational qualification, caste, creed, gender or profession.
Members who graduate from this training are inducted to the COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE and are known as “Coach” members. Just as a “Coach” by virtue of his training and competence and personal example leads his team to success, similarly each one of the “Coach” members of COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE are expected to lead the society in which we live and contribute to the growth and development of others.
Continuous growth and learning is the essence of COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE.
To achieve this, the COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE conducts regular “alumni” meetings. All learnings get diluted over a period of time. Unless they are revisited time and again they become hazy and less real. The alumni meetings provide a platform for coach members for continuous re-enforcement of the powerful concepts that they have learnt during the training workshops, and help all the Coach Members to deeply internalize the principles, beliefs and core values of COACH LEADERSHIP CENTRE, which are:
